See how, via the years, every time
it’s fruit and endgame is sterile, sour;
while action, choices based on principle,
even if misguided, rash
even if out of ignorance, conditioning
eventually ripens the soul;
bringing the chance to grow and learn.
Concocting justifications based on fear,
whether lazy, greedy or compliant
to support a neutral impulse,
second-thought or opt-out
always back-fires; is an unseen lie.
Untruth and false motive undermine
good judgment, moral fibre, perception:
the opportunity and dignity of evolving sapience, towards humanity, wisdom.
Mind-games, the control-freaky tricks
of sideways brain-power
to fix or short-cut outcomes
experiment and play with possibilities,
abscond from responsibility
are very different processes from
the surge of conscience and intuition.
The instinct and courage to face facts.
