BREATHING THE TREES

And they breathe us, the oxygen
dispensed to every creatures lung:
the stuff of sunlight, absorbed
 via their leaf green chemistry
to swell the racing blood with song,
with the elixirs of life itself;
and on, to saturate every atom
and intercellular space
right to the fecund marrow
and caves of the soul itself.

They breathe the oceans too,
phytoplankton sipping solar glory
infusing and aerating the blue light zone
 - while the thick dark of their Deeps
is the waters own time for rest:
to lie down in the otherworld
of deaths own lapse and interlude.

Breathe in!
 - Drink the golden light!
Pause:
soaking the alveoli so all the cells
drink too:
Breathe out!
 - releasing the detritus
 - which in turn, the trees transmute.
Pause again:
the rest of grace and gratitude.

The pulse of hearts,
sap rising - as lymph does too!
The rhythm and processes
 of birthing and dying.
Dark, light, night, day.
Moons, fertility cycles, seasons.
The spaces inbetween words, sounds,
written or sung.
The dimensional dance
with its ups and downs, breadth, width,
gravity abetting.
Polarities, poles, dualities, digits…

Singularity - our living Star!
