Uses, Abuses
Traditional use of angora rabbit fur, sheep's wool,
alpaca, goat and camel hair,
albeit, their natural moulting cycles,
-not to mention birds feathers,
animal skins and parts:
for mohair, cashmere, qiviut -
and silkworms.
Lanolin retaining Bainin yarn
for Gansey Aran sweaters.
Rugs and blankets woven from Bovidae
- whether musk ox, water buffalo, yak or Kyloe cow.
Latex bled from rubber trees - for Wellies:
birch sap and maple syrup - for bellies!
Oak-bark tanning of hides;
processes of fungi, yeast, oxidation,
even, like dairying ants milking aphids,
for us, the lactating juice of mother mammals.

Use of biotech fruit-fly protein,
fish roes and eggs of all sorts; pangolin scales, rhino horn,
turtle carapace
and forget not
dessicated thyroid, heparin, conjugated estrogen
….leeches, maggots and
hyaluronic acid, bee propolis,
birds nest soup…ambergris.
Do we not use? Abuse?
Daring to call it symbiotic.
Not seeing what foraging means.
