Sick with stuff.
The plethora and piles of things
we prefer to buy, not make.
Houses to store it all,
bank accounts to save the overflow.
Insurers to insure:
face recognition technology
to secure it all.
Then, pharmaceuticals to keep us alive,
The Arms-trade to protect
while business, diplomats, politicians
wheel and deal like mad:
their income source - beside pastime
afterall.

A consumer god invented.
Power, control and fear the wherewithal.

Wasn’t it ever enough to have a skin?
Bones to walk about in,
oxygen to breathe?

First, I get me a plot.
A plot that goes deep, is freehold.
Then I build a fence or wall around it,
and construct defensive devices
(straight out of my defensive mind-set).
Then secure water access,
grazing rights.
Done!

Done?
Lord Above, no!

From that base
I can just begin to amass, hoard, store.
Play territorial war-games.
The more I get and have
the more I must busy myself
with safe-guarding it.
Not born a chimp for nuffink,
handy with fingers and neurons
the higher I climb…
the bigger I become…
the more I can make and invest.

Somehow, the mind-bit,
a sort of supposed asset
enables simple facts and truths
to mean and be variable, used at whim,
in part, dependent on
perspective, persons or price
plus hidden agendas
and Malthusian shenanigans;
anything goes!
Perception can allude, delude
is relative, subjective.
The Ground in not.
Nor solid, reliable.

The only (un)thing we ever have for sure
is now. This flyby instant.
Unattached, singular. The verb to be.

Some may whittle wooden spoons
plant seeds, feed birds….
Blink, hold their breath. Aha!
Embodied, in-body epiphanies.
Or zone in, zoom out
via the senses - and non-senses.
Some may cuddle babies, mend bones,
make laws, sing songs….
The way to be only accessible
via physio/psychological doingness.
Being conscious, present
through fear, pain or pleasure
whateveritis.

No surprise that denial is endemic
in every way and age
as well as the root and response.
Cries of Fake, falsa, falsk, falsa … nisemono, rupahu, falschung, nep
ring out world-wide
evidencing this.
