The Undoing
It is time for undoing
the protocols and procedures
that once served a purpose,
providing erstwhile nominal security
and social compliance.
It is time to re-think
the age-old policies and practices
the unthinking adherence to custom,
precedent and tradition;
the shaping of societies’
based on personal survival, status,
trade or territory:
short-term benefit, reaction or impulse
let alone rivalry, cunning, greed;
always ricocheting between flight or flee
…..as much as the newly found Ego’s
“I know best/do my own thing”-ism.
Ah me!
Ah mine?..... thine?
See the Buddhas sitting serene!
The God and earth lovers, children
or special needs in-body,
timelessly absorbed;
artists, monks, loners, lovers, poets
in beatific contemplations,
new parents in mind/boggled awe!
And see this, in 3D, four-square
in every loving moment
- thought, word or action:
the crafts-folk, gardeners, visionaries
the worker bees, providers, net-workers,
sustainers of infra-structures
as well as guides, guardians, exemplars;
the champions, warriors, world-servers
besides shining stars of true leadership
specialist skills, sport and (p)leisure.
The indigenous and legitimate
Inheritors of the kingdoms’ DNA
child-prophets, savants, avatars:
humane, heart-and-now-centric
- aside the colluding, conceding ones
fast-forwarding to automated robot-dom,
manifest in gadgetry, algorithms
..and an all-consuming terror of the soul.
It is also time to stop presuming
we can always fix or avoid things
via our monkey minds and fingers
with some ingenious new fiddle,
equation or barmy experiment;
or that we are the ultimate controllers
of not just ourselves
but of the planet itself,
with unlimited rights of use or abuse:
ownership without conditions.
Allegedly authorized by holy script
- or holy science.
