LETTING GO - 2

What?

Give up, lose, release

that which we’ve lifelong learned to hang onto

for very survival

 - that which is habitually ours,

with all its faithful attachments - the things, parts,

belongings personal and collective

that we consider are ours - even US.

 We forget it’s all gifted, unearned, O belovelies.

We didn’t create it ourselves

nor own a smidgeon thereof!

Just stewards for the duration.

there’s no virtue in persisting beyond the proper moment -

especially when/if it’s defunct,

malign, contagious;

empathy isn’t a belonging,

although duty is contractual,

so said I, ad lib to myself.

And whatabout LOVE!

Freedom, like Icarus’

 isn’t only a dream or a balancing trick, a matter of measure or daring;

he wasn’t considering Loving

at all:

or that Papa had advocated a boring middle way.

Boundaries themselves were likely the issue:

reaching beyond them,

testing and tasting their topography, perspectives - as well as ones own capacities;

pure territory, inside and outer - the innate impetus to explore, research:

the curiosity factor -

until we get thrown out

 or fall down.

Hanging-on is either face/life saving

or a waste of Time.
