By Candlelight, I saw

Continental chunks, sliced off like cake;
islands and peninsulas adrift
- bobbing flotsam in a slurpy bucket
all slithering to the oceans’ pits;
boiling seas tipped up, engulfing
life-forms, artifact and rock.

The off-scene choreographer
orchestrates one instant to the next
in the tumults and thunder of re-creation:
turning dimensions inside out
collapsing the defunct, expanding Time
so the newborn can emerge
through the mayhem of sundering,
crowned by a shattering shriek
of joy with pain.

I saw the wobble settle,
gravitas and ballast prevailing
while the moon, skewed off-course
lurched dizzily up the ecliptic
then reclaimed its track, its hara, whilst
Gravity’s mad jaunt with the Directions
likewise abated
opting for the plumbline Nadir
- it’s hot-line to the blackest hole,
surest root and balance.

Rebirthing of, not just the androgyne
but Earth returned, as stories foretold
to heaven..
