ABOUT DRAGONS

On behalf of anything truly dragonish

Wizardly winged fire-eaters

or whirling, elemental phenomena:

creatures of the air

exuberances of inner earth,

the primordial ethers.

Serpentine tornados betwixt gravity and momentum

swooping across the land

on their sacred missions:

stirrers and guardians of vast, alchemical treasures.

Do swirling windfarms 

in mountainous uplands 

or on continental shelves 

have any correlation here,

O two-legged, many fingered

Man?

churning, mega-factoried monsters

for golloping the gods of

electrical frequencies

as if there was no tomorrow -

no birds to mash,

ear-drums to smash

nor beauty to desecrate.

Our fearsome cleverness

only fit for quick-fixes.
