EVERYONE NEEDS EARPLUGS

She hates everyone, she proclaims

and yet is a dab hand at

switching on her loudspeaker

and adept with upgrades, scrolling

amazon and gmail,

trying to climb out of bed

and finding things in the dark.

Why is she expected to remember

a PIN code, number or password  

because she knows the lies and secrets

and is unlikely to agree or oblige.

She also hates Hereford:

she calls it Horrorford and 

doesn’t need nurses to watch her.
