TAKEN FOR GRANTED
My heath, my wealth, the air we breathe -
that my octogenarian heart still pounds away,
as long as it needs or will.
That beloveds in archetypal alter-zones still exist;
the sun spinning through busy space
at 392,000mph, non-locational
at the galaxies outer rim;
and every inch of earth is sacred
- despite our depredations.
What’s the difference between Now
and Then?
The same continuum and consciousness!
With the years, mayhap, a wincy bit of awe, humility:
remembering the exuberance and joy
of knowing virtually nix!
Out of darkness grows Light:
its primary thrust of egoic folly and greed,
clutching, reaching out for who knows - Necessities’ What.
It may find Something!
- softened, weathered, empathic
rock and bone strong but bendy;
worm, wasp or treey-wise
with roots, seeds timely, profligate.
Mostly silent - like stars and space singing, brim with photons:
the way the dark cries for company
…what’s the difference between Then and Now?
A heart-beat, a shimmer of light,
a raindrop
or the wild frailty and beauty
of resilience and kindliness..
